We are excited to announce that we are getting our own Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog at Faith Community!

The mission of this K-9 ministry is to share the mercy, compassion, presence and proclamation of Jesus Christ. With our own K-9 Comfort dog, we can increase the impact of our current ministries and places of outreach, as well as reach even more of God’s Kingdom in Las Vegas and beyond.

What we are most excited about is that this ministry will help us Invite Others to Know Jesus!

If you know of any other members who would like to be a part of this ministry, please forward this information to them! Remember, we need team members who will have lots of interaction with the dog, and we need team members who are willing to do lots of behind the scenes work, too!

  1. Please pray… we have a lot of work to do and need a great team willing to carry out the mission.
  2. Click here to support Lutheran Church Charities. They have the same costs that we do for having a dog, as well as administrative costs. Without LCC, the K-9 Ministries and Disaster Relief Ministries would not be possible.
  3. Give directly to our ministry by clicking the link below and then select "Comfort Dog."

A lot of questions will be answered at the informational meeting, but here are a few frequently asked questions, that may help. Any other questions? Feel free to email Anna McDaniel at mcdaniela@flhsemail.org.

  • Our dog will be arriving August 31 or July 1st!

  • We need you! Come to our meetings to hear about all the ways you can be a Ministry Partner.

  • We will not be accepting applications for either position for a while… stay tuned if you are interested in these positions. Please remember, there are a lot of things we need to do first. “It’s not about the dog; it’s about the ministry: to share the Mercy, Compassion, Presence, and Proclamation of Jesus Christ to those suffering and in need.”

  • Twice monthly meetings for all team members (handlers, caregivers, and ministry partners) - dates TBA. Handlers need more availability in order to take the dog on ministry visits and possible deployments. A high level of commitment is required for all team members to make this ministry successful.
