CHORAL SCHOLARS

The Choral Scholars are a sacred music student ensemble open to singers in the greater Las Vegas area. Choral Scholars lead and present hymns, anthems and motets, cantor worship services, supplement the Faith Choir and Handbells, and present sacred solos with voice and other instruments. Choral Scholars are encouraged to make a commitment for the entire academic year. Auditions take place in person, on a rolling basis throughout the summer. The group rehearses Wednesdays from 6-7 PM and presents music for Wednesday evening service at 7 PM and every other Sunday at traditional service.

HOW TO APPLY

Undergraduate and graduate students wishing to apply for a position must be in good academic standing with their college or university music program. High School students must be enrolled in their school's vocal music program or ensemble and must supply a recommendation from their primary music teacher(s). High school students can elect to enroll in Choral Scholars for college credit through the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Undergraduate and graduate students receive an honorarium on a per-call basis, paid out twice per month, between August 1st and June 1st.

There is no faith requirement to participate in Choral Scholars, though all members must be willing to participate in, and be respectful of, the respective worship practices and traditions of sponsoring congregations and organizations.
