The MOPS Experience equips women for the joys and challenges of their lives as moms. One key factor in the MOPS Experience is the relationships built within a group. Time and time again, MOPS moms share that the friends they make in MOPS are significant for this season of their life and on into their future. God created us for relationship! It’s one of the defining parts of being human.
However, when you become a mom, all your relationships change. It’s like you have landed on a different planet—Planet Mom—and the relationships on Planet Mom don’t look like the ones on your previous planet. Your relationship with yourself is different—you are a mom! Your relationship with your husband, girlfriends, extended family, community and God have all changed. Many of these changes are positive, some are not. Even positive change requires adjustments on your part.
During the 2009-10 MOPS year, we will explore how to thrive in relationships Together on Planet Mom.
Join us every other Thursday evening at Faith Community Lutheran Church from 6-8 pm. If you have any questions about our MOPS group or are interested in registering for the 2009-2010 session, Ministry Director, Charla Schaefer, at charla.schaefer@faithlasvegas.org.

Mothers of Preschoolers
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children. MOPS also encourages and supports moms through resources such as books, this website and the MOPS International Membership.

What does “OUR” group do?
We start of with childcare sign in (if needed) and mom sign in. We then share in fellowship over delicious refreshments alternately provided by the mom’s of our group. We then move on to announcements and fun!
Just after our wonderful devotional, then our SPEAKER, or TOPIC is introduced. When the speaker is finished, we have discussion time on the topic at hand, and then we move on to a simple craft. Our meeting times are 6:00—7:45. Feel free to stay longer and socialize, if you like.
Registration information and fees:
$5 per meeting!!!
MOPS international requires a $23.95 per year membership fee. Upon your registration, Faith Community covers this charge ($23.95) to MOPS International. Our group has “dues” of $80 per year (18 meetings) that covers all of our other expenses such as crafts, hospitality, gifts, etc. (we do pro rate for late registration) When you register you will receive a financial agreement form which includes your options. If you are in need of financial assistance please see Charla Schaefer to discuss this confidentially — financial assistance can be available!
