The Southwest Mission of Las Vegas was started by a dedicated, mission - minded group as an outreach ministry in November 1997.

Renamed Faith Community Lutheran Church on December 6, 1998.
The mission church begins its worship at Spring Valley Library on South Jones.
In May of 1998, a call is issued to seminarian Ken Lieber to serve as Mission Developer for Circuit 28.
The name Faith Community Lutheran Church, an LCMS Fellowship, is chosen for the mission church. It says this little group of Christians wants to be an active part of the community in which they live and worship.
After much prayer, the people of Faith Community Lutheran Church decide to move from the library to a site in Summerlin, the fastest growing development in Las Vegas. A relationship with Faith Lutheran High School is started.
On December 6, 1998, Faith Community Lutheran Church was chartered as a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, with 62 charter members.
It soon becomes apparent to all that this little mission church is ready to grow and will need more than part-time help. Pastor Ken Lieber is called as pastor to Faith Community in February 1999.
Under the leadership of then President Jim Van Tatenhove and with the help of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund, five acres of land is purchased at the corner of Town Center and Desert Primrose in May of 2000.
Faith Community develops a vision to reach the people of Summerlin with the Gospel message of salvation found in Jesus Christ. To accomplish this, Faith decides to launch their church site with a Child Development Center that is child-focused and Christ-centered.
In October of 2000, planning begins on developing the site. SR Construction, along with George Architect, is selected from more than 20 design/ builders to partner with Faith Community in realizing its vision.
In the summer of 2001, a member of Faith Community commits a $1,000,000 gift towards the building of a new sanctuary, along with the Family Life Center, the Child Development Center and the Education Wing.
Sunday, October 7, 2001, the people of Faith Community meet at the future church site to dedicate the site. It is the official "Ground Breaking"
On December 15, 2001, construction of Faith Community's Campus in Summerlin begins.
In June 2002, Faith Community moved to its current campus on Town Center Drive. The 43,000 sq.ft. facility houses a Preschool (Infant - PreK), Academy (K-5th), a Family Life Center (with full gym and kitchen), and a 475 seat Worship Center.
TODAY: Currently a professional staff of more than 80 dedicated people serves the people of Las Vegas. Faith offers a variety of programs and opportunities for people of all ages meaningfully to connect with each other and with God in a genuine, caring community. In addition, our two Faith schools serve more than 400 children of families in the community.
Children's church, fellowship, youth group, scouting, sports, are just a few of the exciting activities we provide for our young people. Parenting classes, Small Groups, Bible Study, MOPS, Financial Peace University, Crafts, Ministry Teams, Recovery groups, Community Outreach and Mission Trips are some of the ministry opportunities we offer for you to connect with people just like you. FUTURE: In a word, "bright". God has called Faith Community to be a beacon of hope to a world filled with trials, troubles, and terrors. We are developing ministries monthly to help our community navigate the stuff of life. We do this by buidling on the solid foundation of the Great Commission: "Making Disciples of all nations." Our core values and critical targets reflect our commitment to fulfill these directives of our Lord.
